U.S. Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs Robert Blake praised the level of partnership between the two countries.

He said this to journalists on Friday, commenting on the results of the third round of the Uzbek-American political consultations.

Blake said that the results "will further strengthen and diversify bilateral relations."

As reported, during the political consultations, the sides discussed issues of bilateral cooperation, including cooperation in the political, trade, economic, social, and security fields. As part of the consultations, joint meetings of subgroups for cooperation in political, trade, economic, investment, humanitarian, security were held.

"The main priorities of the Uzbek-American dialogue are expanding and deepening of cooperation between the two countries," the assistant secretary of state said.

He also noted the important role of Uzbekistan in the region and the active participation of Tashkent in the socio-economic reconstruction of Afghanistan, in particular the construction of the Hairatan-Mazar-i-Sharif railway, which contributed to the development of transport and communication sector of Afghanistan.

Blake also expressed his confidence in the success of the forum of business circles of the two countries for participation in which representatives of about 50 companies from the United States arrived.
