Uzbekistan will host the first international investment forum in tourism on November 19-21, Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov said.
The conference hall of the Uzexpocenter will be the venue for the upcoming discussions. It is expected that the forum, along with domestic entrepreneurs, will be attended by representatives of international financial institutions, potential foreign investors, international tourism organizations, leading tourism companies, experts and specialists.
The forum participants will be familiarized with investment projects in the tourism sector, in particular they will be provided with information about the Charvak free tourism zone, the tourism zones of Samarkand and Kadimiy Bukhoro (Ancient Bukhara), as well as small tourism zones in Surkhandarya.
The number of tourists visiting Uzbekistan in 1H2018 increased by nearly two times compared to the same period of 2017.
In total, 2,688,962 foreigners visited Uzbekistan in the first 6 months of this year.
The number of travelers from countries for which Uzbekistan introduced a visa-free regime has significantly increased. For example, 31,966 tourists arrived from Turkey in the first 6 months, which is 95.6 percent more than in 2017. The number of travelers from Japan (68.1 percent), Israel (86.2 percent), Indonesia (by more than three times), Singapore (by more than 2.5 times) significantly increased as well.
