Ahmadinejad: Iran to send man into space by 2025

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said the country would send man into space by 2025, ISNA reported.

Speaking to a group of university professors Saturday evening, concerning the global Arrogance's enmity with Iran, Ahmadinejad said, "I believe they fear that Iran make headway, if Iran makes progress, there will be no place for them."

He also added, the recently-approved resolution against Iran aims at "psychological war".

The UN Security Council toughened sanctions against Iran early June after the country's refusal to halt peaceful enrichment work.

The measure came shortly after Iran, Turkey and Brazil signed a proposal known as Tehran declaration on May 17, based on which Iran would send 1200 kg of its lower-enriched uranium stockpile to Turkey to receive higher-enriched uranium at a later time.

Ahmadinejad went on to say that, "we are going to put a larger satellite into space that can operate for one year and send data."

"Iran plans to shoot satellites to altitudes of 700 km, then 1,000 km."

"Once this target is realized, placing a satellite at a geosynchronous orbit of 35,000 km will be easy."

Iran launched a domestically made satellite in 2009.
