The new UN and Arab League envoy for Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi will visit Iran in near future, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia & Pacific affairs told Mehr News Agency.

The new UN and Arab League envoy for Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi will visit Iran in near future, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia & Pacific affairs told Mehr News Agency.

Araghchi said that Brahimi has held telephone talks with Ali-Akbar Velayati, top advisor of Iran Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei last night and Syria crisis was discussed.

According to his statement, Brahimi will attend to Syria, then to Iran in near future.

Former UN and Arab league envoy for Syria Kofi Annan visited Iran two times during his mission.

Araghchi said that Iran's position is peaceful and diplomatic solution for Syria crisis and opposing against foreign military invasion.
