(IRNA) - Iranian Ambassador to Yemen Hossein Kamalian and the deputy speaker of Yemen's parliament, Yahya al-Raei, during a meeting in Sana stressed the need to find a speedy solution to the grave security situation in Iraq.

Discussing latest developments in the region, Kamalian said enemies were trying to sow discord among nations of the Islamic world.

He said defense of the security and stability of the region was a responsibility of regional states, reports Trend.

Kamalian called on every country in the region to play a positive role in restoring peace and security to the Middle East.

Criticizing the continued presence of occupying forces in Iraq, the ambassador said their presence was the main cause of the insecurity and instability in the war-torn country.

He said that withdrawal of these forces would be the initial step to restoration of peace and security to the country.

Al-Raei, for his part, deplored the crisis in Iraq, saying no ethnic or religious group in the country stands to benefit from the crisis nor would it serve the interests of the region.

Reiterating Sana's strong desire to see a stable and secure Iraq, the Yemeni official urged all regional countries to help find a durable solution to its problems.
