(IRNA) - IRI President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here Monday, "The United States is faced with numerous problems for encountering the Islamic Republic of Iran today."

According to IRNA's dispatched reporter to Quito, President Ahmadinejad made the comment on Monday morning local time, in a meeting with visiting Cuban Vice President Carlos Jorge, adding, "The Islamic Republic of Iran has adopted the necessary preemptive measures in order to annul the effects of illegal US sanctions." The president elaborated on Tehran's policies in that respect, emphasizing, "Iran's resistance against the oppressive system (of the United States) is the symbol of resistance of the entire independent countries of the world against totalitarianism of oppressive powers." Ahmadinejad added, "Iran's victory in this campaign, too, equals the victory of all independent nations and countries."

Focusing on latest developments in Iraq and related issues, he said, "The Americans have done their best to weaken the new Iraqi government and spared no effort in that respect and are now willing to find a new justification for prolonging their hegemony in Iraq." The president added, "With the passage of each new day the wrath of the Iraqi nation against the aggressors increases and the time is by no means passing in their favor."

Calling the Iraqi government "an elected and legitimate political system", Ahmadinejad added, "Any more day of the aggressors' stay in Iraq puts them under more questions than the before."

He also criticized the illogical behavior of the United States throughout the world, emphasizing, "The Americans cannot act without creating trouble and the roots of their trouble making are in their way of viewing the affairs and the US mentality."

The President added, "They do not care the slightest bit about the right of the other nations, considering themselves the absolute rulers of the entire world and that is the reason why their decisions are not rational and with each decision they make they face new problems." Ahmadinejad then briefed the Cuban Vice President about the latest status of Iran's ties with Latin America and the recent developments in that respect, stressing, "Iran finds it necessary to strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation with the countries in this region."

Carlos Jorge, too, emphasized, "The United States took advantage of Saddam to strengthen its hegemony over the region, bt now it is faced with a tough situation and it seems as if it has broken all bridges behind for any possible escape."

The Cuban Vice President emphasized, "Havana pursues the regional developments, and particularly those related to Iran, with high sensitivity and utmost interest, and defends Iran's absolute right to have access to nuclear energy without any doubt and entirely without any preservation."

He reiterated that his country has always praised Iran's wise stands and deeds and would remain by the side of the Iranian nation and government under any conditions, reports Trend.

Jorge said that the US administration is "the symbol of hypocrisy, telling lies, and crisis making" at global scene, emphasizing, fortunately all world nations have thoroughly comprehended this fact."

It was agreed during the meeting that contacts and consultation between the two countries would be pursued at foreign ministers' level continually.

The Cuban Vice President meanwhile informed the IRI president of he latest health status of the Cuban Leader Fiddle Castro and President Ahmadinejad prayed for his health.

Islamic Republic of Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrived in Ecuador's capital city, Quito atop a high ranking political-economic delegation on Sunday night on the last leg of his Latin American tour.
