Iranian fishermen catch over 9,000 tons of sprat in Caspian Sea

The Iranian fishermen caught 9,200 metric tons of sprats in the Caspian Sea in the first half of the current Iranian year, which started on March 21, the Mana news agency reported Oct. 24.
Reportedly, some 9,200 metric tons of sprats were caught in the provinces of Gilan and Mazandaran (41 percent and 59 percent, respectively).
Compared with the same period of last year the catch increased by 17 percent.
