A Russian delegation will visit Iran next week to certify importing Iranian dairy products, said Kaveh Zargaran, a member of the Iran Chamber of Commerce.

Zargaran said the Russian delegation will visit three Iranian dairy plants, Iran's Fars news agency reported on Feb. 18.

The delegation will arrive in Iran likely by Feb. 24, he noted.

The lack of veterinary protocols and high tariffs are the main problems hindering exports of Iranian food products to Russia, he added.

Iran exported some $4.2 billion of food and agricultural products in the first 10 months of the current Iranian fiscal year, which began on March 21, 2014, a one percent rise year on year, he noted.

Some $474 million of dairy products, $537 million of pastries candies, $1.4 billion of pistachios, and $142 million of seafood were exported during the 10-month period, he said.

Russia has issued licenses for 18 Iranian companies to export fisheries to Moscow.

Isa Golshahi, an official with Iran Fisheries Organization, previously said that Iran is ready to export 100,000 metric tons of fisheries to Russia.

During an official visit to Tehran by a high-ranking Russian delegation, the country officially requested Iran to increase its agricultural products and food stuff exports to Moscow in order to meet the country's domestic demands.
