Iran’s monthly imports from US decrease by 7%

The United States exported 5094 metric tons of goods, worth $19 million to Iran in Iranian last calendar month (Feb.20-March 20), the Islamic Republic's Customs Administration said in its latest annual report.

The US exports to Iran indicate a fall by 6.9 percent in terms of value and an increase by 162.7 percent in terms of volume compared to the same period of last year.

Tehran's imports from Washington stood at $154.12 million during the last Iranian fiscal year (ended on March 20), 16.4 percent more year on year.

Iran imported 36,363 metric tons of goods from the US in the period, indicating a rise by 47.5 percent in comparison with the preceding year.

Imports from the US shared 0.29 percent of Iran's overall imports in the 12-month period (March 20, 2014-March 20, 2015).

No exports from Tehran to the US were registered in the period.

The Islamic Republic's non-oil exports (excluding condensates) stood at $35.74 billion during last fiscal year, while imports accounted for $52.477 billion.

Iran's overall non-oil trade turn over including condensates stood at $102.22 billion during the period.
