Iran’s car output during the nine months period from March 2015 decreased by 17 percent compared to the same period of preceding year

Iran's car output during the nine months period from March 2015 decreased by 17 percent compared to the same period of preceding year.

Iranian companies manufactured 682,182 cars in March 21-Dec. 22, 2015, according to a report from Iran's industry, mines and trade ministry.

Iranian carmakers produced 626,181 sedan cars, 48,027 pick-ups, 7640 trucks and 543 buses as well as 421 minibuses in the nine-month period.

The country's car output during Nov. 22-Dec. 22, 2015 stood at 78,707.

Iranian carmakers produced 72,087 sedans in the one-month period as well as 5833 pick-ups, 668 trucks, 85 buses and 34 minibuses.

More than 1.13 million cars were produced in Iran till March 20.

Sedan cars output stood at 958,335 in the mentioned period, a 53 percent rise year on year.

Iran also produced 150,929 pickup trucks, 20,239 trucks, 482 buses, and 179 minibuses in the 12-month period.

Iran produced 989,110 cars in 2012, which made the country Asia's eighth largest car manufacturer. Iran also stood at the world's 18th place in the mentioned year.

The Islamic Republic's car output faced a 40 percent decrease in 2012 due to the sanctions. The country was Asia's fifth largest car manufacturer in 2011, with a total output of 1,648,505.
