Central Insurance of Iran, the industry’s regulator, has obliged the country’s insurers to a issue unique code for third-party policies.

Under the instructions, the insurers have launched the unique code system since the beginning of the current Persian month (starting September 23), local media outlets reported.

The new instruction urges the insurers to post data on third-party policies on Iran's electronic insurance supervision platform known as "Sanhab".

Abdolnaser Hemmati, the head of the Central Insurance of Iran, earlier expressed hope that the unique code (Yekta in Persian) would pave the way for healthy competition among the insurance companies.

The officials of the industry believe that the new unique code is capable of bringing transparency to the industry.
