Concrete placing operation at the second unit at Bushehr nuclear plantis being performed by one of the project's main contractors - Russian Atomstroyexport (ASE), said an executive in Iran's Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant.
"It is expected that we start placing concrete at the third unit in 18 months; the second unit will be completed in 2025, and the third unit in 2027," said Mahmoud Jafari during the ceremony on the start of the operations, Trend reports.
"The field studies were completed and provided to the contractor; in the past 33 months the contractor delivered the designs to the employee," Jafari said. "The ASE company's work included excavation of two meters in the area of second and third units, and the soil improvement in reactor number 2 has been also completed."
"The process started in November 2018. Many Iranian construction companies were contracted for the project including Omran Azarestan Company, Basparpey, Omran Shams and Peychin, while the Russian Rosatom is the project's foreign contractor," he added.
Atomstroyexport (ASE) is the Russian Federation's nuclear power equipment and service exporter and fully owned subsidiary of Rosatom.
