Fifteen More Join Hunger-Strike in Front of Georgian Parliament

Fifteen more participants at the meeting of the Unified Georgian Opposition joined the hunger-strike of five leaders of the opposition last night. There were 45 volunteers ready to join the hunger-strike, but only 15 of them were selected.

Five opposition leaders commenced the hunger-strike in front of the Georgian Parliament on 5 November. They intend to continue the hunger until the demands of the opposition are met.

The strikers together with several supporters spent last night in front of the Parliament.

It was raining in Tbilisi in the morning and weather forecast predicted a cold snap.

Meanwhile, the youth division of the opposition will continue picketing state bodies on 6 November. They will hold pickets in front of the Russian Embassy in Georgia, the office of the Unified National Movement, Culture & Sports Ministry and the home of the Culture & Sports Minister Giorgi Gabashvili.
