Georgia, Tbilisi / corr. Trend N. Kirtskhalia/ The opposition parties of Georgia turned down a proposal by the Georgian President to meet in order to ensure security in the country. On 23 April, Mikhail Saakashvili invited the opposition to meet and take steps during the discussions in order to save the country from acrisis that began due to Russia's agressive policy.

"Up to now the Georgian President was very comfortable in a monologue and to prove that he is serious in his call for unification with the opposition for the security of the country and to prove that it is not one of his pre-election moves," said Giorgi Targamadze, one of the opposition leaders.

One of the leaders of Labour Party Giorgi Gugava stated that Mikhail Saakashvili's policy led to the fact that Georgia's territories are almost divided. "Let him solve this problem himself as we have different visions as a solution," he said.
