Russia Taking Provocative Step against Georgia by Increasing Number of Peacemakers in Abkhazia – Georgian Foreign Ministry
Georgia, Tbilisi, 30 April / Trend corr. N.Kirtskhalia / The Russian Federation has taken another irresponsible and provocative step. Russia has increased the number of peacemakers in Abkhazia unanimously and without any preliminary agreement with Georgia. According to the information released by the Georgian Foreign Ministry, Georgia condemns this aggression, which is masked under the peacemaking operation.
The Russian heavy artillery and military techniques have passed the Georgian state borders and Psou River. Fifteen new posts have been opened on the administrative border of Abkhazia without any permission from the Georgian side.
Georgia has attempted to attract the attention of international community to destabilize the role of Russian military contingent in the conflict zones. The current increase of military force in Abkhazia demonstrates next offensive step towards Georgia and create instable situation in the region.
Georgia appeals to the international communities and organizations, including the UN Secretary General's friends, to take adequate and decisive measures in order to prevent Russian aggression against Georgia.
