The solemn opening ceremony of the new House of Government of Georgia attended by President Mikhail Saakashvili was held in Kutaisi.
The ceremony was also attended by representatives of executive and administrative authorities of Georgia and students of a local military school.
The President of Georgia on Tuesday attended the opening ceremony of a new local history museum and the starting ceremony of works at Kopitnari airport.
From now on, Kutaisi is assigned the status of Georgia's second capital, Saakashvili said.
Following the opening ceremony, the Government of Georgia held a meeting in the new building.
