Russian military exercises taking place under 'Caucasus-2012' scheduled for September threaten not only Georgia, but the whole region, Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze told Georgian TV companies on Thursday.
He stressed that he discussed this issue yesterday at a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Brussels, where the NATO ministerial meeting was being held.
"These exercises are a danger to the entire region," Vashadze said. "We urge Russia to ensure security guarantees and hope for assistance from our partners, including the U.S."
It should be recalled that Hillary Clinton plans to visit Georgia in the near future.
