U.S. team of military experts will head to Georgia for an official visit in order to implement the agreement on the Georgian-American military cooperation.
This group of experts will study the situation of air defense of Georgia and determine the outgoing potential air threats for Georgia at the first stage, Georgian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.
The experts will analyze the possibility and the need for defense on the entire territory of Georgia, including the sea area.
Anti-aircraft defense doctrine of Georgia will be proposed to the Georgian side and will be technically assured by the American side on the next stage of cooperation.
The work is carried out in the framework of the agreement signed by U.S. President Barack Obama and Saakashvili in February of this year in Washington. Then the parties have agreed on a new level of cooperation in the military sphere.
Georgian experts have noted that this visit is very important for Georgia as defense system in Georgia is a vital issue.
