The United States welcomes the aspirations of the new government of Georgia to improve relations with its neighbors, U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary Eric Rubin said at a briefing in Tbilisi on Thursday.

The United States welcomes the aspirations of the new government of Georgia to improve relations with its neighbors, U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary Eric Rubin said at a briefing in Tbilisi on Thursday.

"The U.S. is not going to interfere with this desire and only support it," he said.

He noted that the U.S. supports the territorial integrity of Georgia and will not change this position.
