Georgia has suffered one another victim on the thorny and difficult process of joining the civilized world, Georgian President, Mikheil Saakashvili stated late on Thursday at the presidential palace in an address to the nation, commenting on the death of six Georgian soldiers in Afghanistan.

"This is a very heavy blow and there is nothing harder to me as president, to see how the Georgian families receive messages about the death of their beloved members. This is a tragedy for them, it's a blow to the country, for each of us. I have been several times in recent years in Afghanistan and three times opportunity to see with our military in place of duty. They are very proud of the mission that execute against the daily hazards, showing bravery. I saw the attack on our military unit in Helmand province, and how our military to defend their flag and our motherland in a faraway country," Saakashvili said.

This is a very difficult mission and the more it is coming to an end - 2014 - withdrawal of the military contingent, it becomes even more dangerous to our military.

"Why we are in Afghanistan - the question in every Georgian family - we are there to strengthen our country, because Georgia can be saved only if we become part of a strong alliances, will become members of the EU and NATO, and if we are to contribute to global security, " president of Georgia said.

"I have just got letter of the secretary general of NATO, which gives high praise to our actions and our military, bringing condolences. They died for the future of our country and our children," the president added.

"We owe it to them not to give up, fight to the end to entry into the civilized world and our security. I'm sorry for every family of the deceased and all of Georgia and I am sure that their death will not be in vain and we shall make ensure our security," president of Georgia said.
