Georgia's choice is the European family and this process is irreversible, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said on the eve of the Vilnius summit of the Eastern Partnership.
"This summit is very important for the future of our country, as our choice is the European family, the European road. Accordingly, it will be an irreversible process. Regarding the association agreement, a lot of ways will open before Georgia with business, trade,etc.," Garibashvili said.
The prime minister does not share the views about the negative impact of Ukraine's decision on Georgia.
In mid-November the Ukrainian government halted preparations for the conclusion of an association agreement with the European Union, saying it needs to develop economic relations with Russia and the CIS. Earlier it was expected that the association agreement will be signed at the Eastern Partnership summit in Vilnius, to be held on November 28-29.
Ukraine's example is not indicative for Georgia because the country is not so much tied to Russia, Garibashvili said.
