Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili received the European Parliament's rapporteur on Georgia, Latvian journalist and politician Andrés Mamikins. The parties discussed the relations between Georgia and the European Union, the Government of Georgia reported Sept.8.
By signing of the Association agreement, European perspective became a reality for Georgia and a new phase of cooperation with the EU began.
The obligations under the Association agreement and the necessary reforms were also discussed. The Prime Minister of Georgia said that the implementation of these commitments is one of the priorities of his government and they are fully compatible with his vision of socio-economic development and democratic institutions.
The sides also discussed prospects of cooperation with the European Parliament.
