USAID to launch program for securing Georgia’s energy future

The USAID looks to launch Securing Georgia’s Energy Future Program (SGEFP) worth $15.7 Million, Trend reports with reference to Georgian media.

According to the information, the USAID Securing Georgia’s Energy Future Program exemplifies USAID’s approach to supporting Georgia’s development under its Country Development Cooperation Strategy for 2020-2025 launched in 2020.

It is noted that a main objective of the strategy is building Georgia’s “resilience” – strengthening the institutions, infrastructure, and practices necessary to protect its society.

The Securing Georgia’s Energy Future Program will be officially inaugurated at Gori Wind Power Station at 11 o’clock (GMT+4) on July 28.

It is reported that the opening ceremony will be attended by US Ambassador in Georgia Kelly Degnan and Georgian Economy Minister Natia Turnava.
