BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 31. The World Bank and Georgia signed an agreement on the road construction project on March 30, 2022, Trend reports via the Ministry of Finance of Georgia.

Earlier, the WB has allocated $109 million to the construction of a 17 kilometers long four-lane road in Georgia’s Sagarejo town of the Kakheti region.

The relevant agreement was signed between the Minister of Finance Lasha Khutsishvili and the WB Regional Director for South Caucasus Sebastian Molineus.

According to the Ministry, this project will accelerate the development of the Kakheti region and will help increase the potential of agriculture and tourism. In addition, after the project’s completion, travel to the capital and the other regions of the country will become easier.

The project will be implemented by the Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia.
