Saudi authorities on Sunday discovered an arms cache used by al-Qaida militants in the capital of Riyadh, Xinhua quoted Saudi Press Agency SPA as reporting.
The police seized 281 kalashnikovs, 250 cartridges and 55 boxes containing 41,250 bullets hidden in a concrete block used as camouflage in a house in Riyadh.
A spokesman for the Interior Ministry told SPA that investigation into a group of al-Qaida militants detained on Aug. 19 found that they hid the huge amount of arms in the house.
They also possessed 50 machine-guns and a large quantity of ammunition and electronic circuits used for remote detonation, according to the report.
