U.S. official visits Lebanon to discuss peace process

The U.S. Special Middle East Peace Envoy's assistant Frederick Hoff on Tuesday starts a visit to Beirut to discuss peace process in the region, the daily newspaper Almustaqbal reported.

The U.S. Special Middle East Peace Envoy's assistant Frederick Hoff on Tuesday starts a visit to Beirut to discuss peace process in the region, the daily newspaper Almustaqbal reported. 
   Hoff will talk with senior Lebanese officials on developments in the peace process and the situation in the region, the report said, Xinhua reported.
   The newspaper added that Hoff is set to explore "the prospects for possibilities to activate, in the future, Lebanese and Syrian tracks and the necessary preparations in that regard."
   Lebanon and Syria are considered at war with the Jewish state, and U.S. is trying to persuade them to get into negotiations with Israel.
