Israel, Jerusalem, 23 January / Тrend corr R. Abdullayev / The US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice called on the Israeli Government to prevent a humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, NEWSRU reported.
"Nobody wants innocent Gaza residents to suffer. We made Israelis aware of the necessity to prevent a humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip," Rice said in Berlin on 22 January during a meeting with Foreign Ministers of the UN Security Council's five permanent members and Germany.
Rice stressed that the situation had been caused by the Palestinian terror organization HAMAS. "Israeli citizens face missile bombardment, terror and hatred," she said.
A solution should be found to the problem, she said.
