Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 16 / Trend , A.Gut/ Twenty-four people died and over 50 were injured when a private bus transporting Russian tourists from an airport near Eilat veered off the Mitzpe-Ramon-Eilat road and plummeted into a 80-meter ravine on Tuesday afternoon.
Dozens of ambulances were sent to the scene of the accident. Israeli Air Force and Magen David Adom service (MDA) helicopters are evacuating the casualties.
The bus was transporting Russian tourists from Ovda Airport to Eilat. According to initial reports, at least 20 people died and more than 40 sustained injuries.
Israeli defence army sent six helicopters to evacuate the victims to Soroka Hospital in Beersheba and Yosephtal Hospital in Eilat.
The Ministry of Health called on all doctors who are on vacation in Eilat to come to the hospital to assist their colleagues to help victims.
