Troubled British singer Amy Winehouse was Friday arrested on suspicion of assault following reports that she punched and head-butted two men during a night out earlier in the week, dpa reported.
Scotland Yard, confirming the arrest, said the 24-year-old singer had been questioned at a central London police station. Her spokesman said earlier she had gone to the police "voluntarily."
Reports said the singer punched one man in the face during a drinking session in a north London bar in the early hours of Wednesday and head-butted another who tried to help her hail a taxi.
It was reported Wednesday that Winehouse, whose troubled personal life has eclipsed her musical success in recent months, has amassed a fortune of 10 million pounds (20 million dollars).
