Boost office productivity by turning off e-mail alert

Other News Materials 9 November 2008 07:22 (UTC +04:00)

Twenty-first century office workers are so preoccupied with their e-mail accounts that do not have enough time for their actual job, according to Germany's Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA), dpa reports.

It recommended switching off alarm signals to minimize the preoccupation with e-mail. Turning off the alarm makes a worker less likely to drop everything and focus on the e-mail.

According to a survey by the BauA, more than half of office workers consider interruptions at work a serious nuisance.
