FA Cup shock as Leeds win at United

League One side Leeds United eliminated Premier League Manchester United 1-0 from the FA Cup on Sunday, dpa reported.

Jermaine Beckford got the only goal of the third-round game after 19 minutes, bringing delight to the 9,000 Leeds fans packed in to the home of the side they still consider their bitterest rivals.

The forward Beckford ran onto a 60-yard ball from Jonathan Howson, got between the two centre-backs and squeezed a finish past Tomasz Kuszzak for his 20th goal of the season.

United looked disjointed, and striker Wayne Rooney was clearly furious with the positioning of defender Wes Brown for the goal.

This wasn't a first-choice United team, but it wasn't far off, with Rooney and Dimitar Berbatov starting up front and effectively a first-choice back four given their injury problems.

Leeds goalkeeper Casper Ankergren made one fine save from Rooney in injury time, but United rarely threatened in a limp performance.

West Ham United host Arsenal in the pick of Sunday's other third-round games.
