Goals from Diego and Fabio Grosso helped Juventus snatch a 2-1 win at Fiorentina Saturday to claw back fourth place in the Italian Serie A, dpa reported.

The last available Champions League berth could be back in the hands of Palermo, who beat and leapfrogged Juve last week, when they welcome lowly guests Livorno on Sunday.

Brazil forward Diego was on target at Florence's Artemio Franchi after just two minutes after controlling a deep assist from Antonio Candreva.

A similar chance fell on nine minutes to Alberto Gilardino, but the international's shot was deflected by Alex Manninger, who blocked another break from Gila after watching a free-kick from Juan Vargas fly wide on 15 minutes.

Juve came close again when Gianluca Comotto managed a last-gasp tackle on the goal-bound French forward David Trezeguet, but they paid dearly for dithering in defence on 31 minutes.

The diminutive former-Juve midfielder Marco Marchionni was undisturbed when he nodded home a long cross from Massimo Gobbi as both Austria's Manninger and defender Paolo De Ceglie failed to intervene.

Veteran Fabio Grosso replaced the injured De Ceglie in a second half that saw Juve produce a brisk but sterile start before the game's pace considerably slowed down.

The hosts missed a good chance as Juve again napped on a corner kick before Mali midfielder Sissoko on 68 minutes set up Grosso into the area for a smashing drive that the defender drilled under the bar.

Later Saturday, Roma and AC Milan clash to keep leaders Inter Milan within reach as the Devils lag four points adrift and the Rome hosts lie three further points below.

Inter close the weekend late Sunday with a home game against Genoa, who are one of the several teams looking to secure a berth in next season's continental tournaments.
