The death toll in target killing incidents which broke out late Monday in Pakistan's largest city of Karachi has risen to seven while another three were injured till Tuesday morning, local media Geo news reported.
According to police sources, Assistant Jailor, Ishaq Mio, was shot injured by armed men who was rushed to a private hospital but later succumbed to fatal injuries, Xinhua reported.
Local sources said the target killings started when three persons were killed in Musa Colony, near Nazimabad College for Man. The killings triggered violence in parts of city in which people in rage set vehicles on fire, chanted slogans and staged fierce protest.
Later police and rangers' contingents controlled situation and dispersed protesters.
