A MiG-27 fighter of the Indian Air Force Wednesday crashed in the western state of Rajasthan, a senior defense official said, Xinhua reported.
However, the pilot ejected safely, he said.
"The crash happened during a routine sortie on the outskirts of a small village near the city of Jodhpur shortly after it took off from Jodhpur air base at 13:00 p.m.. The pilot, Flight Lieutenant A Patni, is safe," the official said.
This is the fourth MiG-27 mishap this year.
