Protesting students on Wednesday attempted to force their way into the headquarters of Britain's conservative party, prompting an evacuation of the building in central London, DPA reported.
The students were among thousands taking part in a national demonstration against the cost of tuition, according to media reports.
A window of Millbank Tower, which houses the Tory Party, was reportedly smashed. The building was evacuated after a fire alarm was sounded, a witness was quoted as saying.
