Three Hercules aircraft from the British Royal Air Force arrived in Malta on Sunday after a second evacuation mission in Libya, dpa reported.
The aircraft were carrying 150 oil workers picked up from the eastern Libyan desert, British Defence Secretary Liam Fox said.
Anthony Formosa, a Maltese national onboard the aircraft, told Malta's national state broadcaster he had sought shelter in a village for five tension-filled days together with another 40 colleagues.
