A U.S. guided-missile frigate called at the Russian Pacific Fleet base in Vladivostok Thursday for an official visit, Xinhua reported.

The USS Vandergrift was hosted by the Varyag guided-missile destroyer.

The program of the three-day visit includes meetings with fleet officers, a ceremony of laying wreaths at the Memorial of Combat Glory of the Pacific Fleet and sightseeing tours in the Russian Far-Eastern city.

The U.S. sailors will also visit the children onco-hematology center and the "Sail of Hope" rehabilitation center.

Two South Korean warships and a delegation of military attaches from Europe, South America and Asia visited Vladivostok earlier this week.

On Sunday, a Japanese naval task force will call at the Pacific Fleet base for joint anti-pirate drills. Enditem
