Ukraine's PM announced determined gas price for Ukraine

(ForUm) - Gas price for Ukraine wont exceed 95 USD per thousand cubic meters by the end of 2006, as Prime Minister of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych told journalists in Sochi. This year the gas price wont exceed 95 USD, as concerns the next year, it will depend on the market, he said. At the same time, the Head of Government doesnt rule out that the gas price for Ukraine may even be lower in 2006, Cabinet's press office reported.

Speaking about price parameters for 2007, Viktor Yanukovych noted that the gas prices for 2007 would become known in November-December. Prime Minister noted that probable gas prices for 2007 may amount between 150 and 230 USD per thousand cubic meters. But we believe there will be no abrupt gas price hikes. During the negotiations I didn't feel like our partners mean to aggravate the situation, Prime Minister of Ukraine said, reports Trend.

Viktor Yanukovych pointed out that in the relations with the Russian counterparts the Ukrainian Government would always aim at timely and transparent problem-solving including the gas sphere.
