German President Christian Wulff will meet with the Turkish Religious Affairs Minister Ali Bardakoglu during his first official visit to Turkey, Cihan news agency reports.
Wulff, who arrived in Ankara on Monday evening, was accompanied by a delegation of senior German officials, as well as leading businessmen.
He is the first German president, who has visited Turkey over the last decade.
During Wulff's visit, bilateral, regional and international issues will be thoroughly discussed and views will be exchanged on ways of promoting cooperation and friendship between the two countries, the Turkish Presidential Administration said earlier.
Wulff will address the Turkish Parliament, as well as take part in a business forum in the city of Kayseri and then will leave for Tarsus and Adana.
After meeting with the Turkish officials Wulff together with his Turkish counterpart Abdullah Gul will attend the laying ceremony of the Turkish-German University in Istanbul.
