After holding a meeting with his German counterpart Guido Westerwelle in Istanbul, Davutoglu said that Turkey has been taking every kind of measures on its borders.

Davutoglu said that NATO highlighted in a meeting that Turkey-Syria border was the border of NATO and it was a clear support by NATO.

"Within this scope, I would like to thank Germany for its assistance," he said. Westerwelle said that he paid this visit to Turkey to show that Germany was beside Turkey, and it appreciated Turkey for its stance in regard to incidents along its border with Syria.
