One Turkish soldier was killed and six other were severely wounded when a group of Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) terrorists attacked a gendarmerie outpost in rural area in Lice district of southeastern province of Diyarbakır late on Friday, Todayszaman reported.
The PKK terrorists attacked a military checkpoint near to the Duru Gendarmerie outpost lying at the meeting point of Hani road and Bingöl-Diyarbakır highway with rocket-propelled grenades.
Soldiers at the outpost immediately returned fire to the terrorist group.
Reinforcement troops escorted by helicopters were deployed in the area to haunt the group, which attacked the checkpoint and the outpost.
Officials said the operation is still ongoing.
