The police conduct the second anti-terrorist operation in Istanbul during a week, Turkish Haber7 TV channel reported Jan. 15.

The second anti-terrorist operation, codenamed "Scorpion" is being carried out in six districts of Istanbul.

Istanbul's police held the first anti-terrorist operation Jan. 12. The operation was carried out in various parts of Istanbul. The police and intelligence services of the country were also involved.

A number of people were arrested during the operation. Their number was not disclosed.

Turkish security forces prevented two terrorist attacks in one of the shopping malls of Istanbul on December 10, 2014.

Earlier, a female suicide bomber blew herself up in Istanbul at the entrance to the police station in the historic Sultanahmet district.

One policeman was killed and one was injured during the terrorist attack.

Initially, it was reported that the terrorist attack was made by Elif Sultan Kalsen - a student of one of the universities in the country. Then the Turkish Interior Ministry issued a statement that the suicide bomber is a citizen of Russia Diana Ramazanova, a native of Dagestan.

Russia's Consulate General in Istanbul has not yet confirmed the information about the involvement of the citizen of the Russian Federation in the terrorist attack.
