Exports of Turkey's fruits, vegetables decrease

In January-September 2019, Turkey's exports of fruits and vegetables decreased by 19 percent, compared to the same period in 2018, and amounted to 2.235 million tons, a source at Turkey's Union of Exporters of Fresh Fruit and Vegetables told Trend.

According to the source, from January to September 2019, Turkey's income from exports of fruits and vegetables decreased by 12 percent compared to the same period of 2018 and amounted to $1.344 billion.

In January-September 2019, 864,346 tons of fruits were exported from Turkey, which is 6 percent less compared to the same period of 2018. During the indicated period, Turkey’s income from fruit exports decreased by 1 percent compared to the same period of 2018 and amounted to $638.402 million.

According to the source, in January-September 2019, Turkey's exports of vegetables decreased by 16 percent, compared to the same period in 2018, and amounted to 727.999 million tons.

In January-September 2019, Turkey's vegetable exports amounted to $428.987 million, in monetary terms.

In the first nine months of 2019, Turkey exported 643,062 tons of citrus fruits, which is 40 percent less compared to January-September 2018. Meanwhile, Turkey's exports of citruses amounted to $277.126 million, in monetary terms.
