Real estate sales via mortgage lending up in Turkey

In October 2019, 50,400 residential properties were sold in Turkey within mortgage lending, which is 42,300 more compared to October 2018, Trend reports referring to the country’s General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre.

Most of the real estate was sold in Istanbul, said the to the report.

According to the general directorate, 8,470 real estate properties were sold via mortgage lending in Istanbul in October 2019, which is 6,200 properties more than in October 2018.

In Ankara, 6,100 properties were sold via mortgage lending in October this year, which is 5,200 properties more compared to the same month of 2018.

From January through October 2019, 238,319 real estate properties were sold via mortgage lending in Turkey, which is 187,937 more compared to the same period of 2018.

For the ten months of 2019, 37,400 real estate properties were sold in Istanbul via mortgage lending, which is 9,300 less compared to the same period in 2018.

From January through October 2019, 28,800 real estate properties were sold in Ankara via mortgage lending, which is 1,700 less compared to the same period in 2018.

In October 2019, 142,800 residential properties were sold in Turkey, which is 15.4 percent less compared to the same period of 2018.
