Cargo movement from US via Turkish ports in Oct. 2019 exceeds 15M tons

In October 2019, the volume of cargo transshipment from the US through Turkish ports amounted to 15.5 million tons, Trend reports referring to the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.

The ministry noted that in October 2019, the volume of transshipment of cargo from the US by vessels flying the flag of this country amounted to 4,470 tons, and by vessels flying the flags of other countries – 1.6 million tons.

During the reporting period, the volume of transshipment of cargo from the US by vessels flying the Turkish flag amounted to 6,385 tons.

Some 113,259 tons of cargo from the US were shipped to other countries in transit through Turkish ports.

In October 2019, Turkish ports received 5,126 vessels, the gross tonnage of which amounted to 69.8 million tons.

In the reporting period, 1,852 vessels flying the Turkish flag and 3,274 vessels flying the flags of other countries arrived at Turkish ports.

In October 2019, the gross tonnage of vessels arriving at Turkish ports flying the Turkish flag amounted to 10.5 million tons, and vessels flying the flags of other countries – 59.2 million tons.

From January through October 2019, Turkish ports received 46,607 vessels, the gross tonnage of which amounted to 660.7 million tons.

In the reporting period, 17,853 vessels flying the Turkish flag and 28,754 vessels flying the flags of other countries arrived at Turkish ports.

From January through October 2019, the gross tonnage of vessels arriving at Turkish ports flying the Turkish flag amounted to 99.1 million tons, and vessels flying the flags of other countries – 561.5 million tons.
