Turkey-Iran trade turnover down

in January 2020, Turkey-Iran trade turnover made up $289 million, which is decrease by $386.6 million compared to the same month of 2019, Trend reports referring to Turkey’s Ministry of Trade on Mar. 5.

"In January 2019, Turkey's export to Iran amounted to $183 million, and import from Iran made up $105.9 million," the ministry said.

Turkey’s foreign trade turnover in January 2020 exceeded $33.9 billion.

In the same period export from Turkey exceeded $14.7 billion, which is increase by 6.4 percent compared to January 2019.

Turkey's import increased by 18.8 percent in January 2020 compared to the same month of 2019 and exceeded $19.2 billion.

From January through December 2019, trade between Turkey and Iran increased by $68.5 million compared to 2018, exceeding $2.2 billion. In the same period, Turkish exports to Iran amounted to $2.3 billion, and imports from Iran - $3.2 billion.
