Export of defense industry products from Turkey to world markets dropped by 29.2 percent from January through July 2020, compared to the same period of 2019, having surpassed $1 billion, the Turkish Trade Ministry told Trend .
The ministry said that Turkey’s export of defense products made up 1.2 percent of the country's total export for the indicated period.
In July 2020, Turkey exported $139.7 million worth of defense products to international markets, which is 40.2 percent less compared to July 2019.
Turkey’s export of defense-related products in July 2020 accounted for 0.9 percent of the country's total export.
Over the past 12 months (from July 2019 through July 2020), Turkey exported the defense industry products worth over $2.3 billion abroad.
