Female cyclist from Belarus Alena Amialiusik (3:20:36) won the gold medal in women's road cycling event at the First European Games in Baku June 20.

The silver medal was grabbed by Katarzyna Niewiadoma, representing Poland (3:20:36), while Anna van der Breggen (the Netherlands) won the bronze medal (3:20:36).

Azerbaijan's cyclist Olena Pavlyukhina ranked 32nd (3:25:57), while another Azerbaijani female cyclist Ulfet Nazarli failed to finish the race.

In total, 68 cyclists from 30 countries participated in this event.

The European Games that kicked off in Baku June 12, will last till June 28. There is a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports.

More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe came to Baku to represent their nations over 17 days of competition. Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
