Israel intends to suspend military operation in the Gaza Strip during Egyptian Prime Minister Hisham Kandil's visit there, "Al Jazeera" TV channel quotes the country's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as saying.

Egyptian President Mohammed Mursi instructed the head of government to visit the Gaza Strip on Nov.17 as a sign of solidarity with the Palestinians.

Mursi urged Israel to stop attacks on Gaza and called the operation, which killed 15 Palestinians, as manifestation of "unacceptable hostility".

The Israeli Air Force carried out attacks today, the second day of operations in the Gaza Strip, aimed at about a 100 targets and killing three members of the HAMAS movement's military wing, bringing the total number of killed Palestinians to at least 11.

Operation Pillar of Cloud has been a large scale operation carried out over the past four years. Tanks and naval ships are involved in the shelling of Gaza in addition to planes. Representatives of the Israeli political leadership and military command do not rule out a land invasion.

Last time Israel brought ground troops into the enclave was in the winter of 2008-2009. Then the victims of the operation amounted to about 1400 Palestinians.
