Tehran will soon send a delegation to Saudi Arabia to probe the deaths of two Iranian pilgrims, a senior Iranian lawmaker said on Saturday.
According to Iranian state TV's website IRIB, parliamentarian Allaeddin Boroujerdi said that Riyadh must respond over the deaths of the pilgrims who were reportedly killed in a crash at Jeddah International Airport.
Boroujerdi who chairs the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission at Iran's Parliament went on to note that Saudi Arabia is responsible for providing security for the pilgrims.
He added that the delegation will investigate whether there was any failure on the part of Riyadh that led to the deaths of the pilgrims.
Saudi Arabian officials said that the two Iranian pilgrims died after a service truck crashed into a passenger lounge.
